Gunmen Kill Three in Bori

Gunmen, suspected to be hired assassins on Monday killed three people in Bori, the headquarters of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The killings took place as hoodlums on Sunday burnt down four houses in the area, including the building belonging to one Mr. Friday Knee.

The suspected assassins who invaded Bori, killed Mr. Charles Otukpor, Mr. Nekabari and Henry Kpunee. Mrs. Kate Otukpor, a relation of one of the murdered persons said the victims were killed at a popular joint in the area.

Kate who spoke in a telephone interview with punch correspondent, noted that the gunmen stormed Prince Ibara Street in Bori where the victims went for relaxation. She claimed that the killing of her brother was politically motivated, emphasizing that her brother was a strong supporter of one of the candidate of APC for the re-run elections in the area. She also said some people came to call her that her elder brother had been shot dead by assassins.

According to punch newspaper, the Rivers State Police Command had not confirmed the killings but a Senior Police Officer in Bori Police Division Headquarters confirmed the killings. He also said the police had ordered that the remains of the victims be deposited in the mortuary while investigation is still on.
